The BÄR Story

It all began 40 years ago when company founder Christian Bär set out to find comfortable shoes for his often painful feet. He quickly decided to start a company with his wife, Hilke, and produce high-quality shoes that accommodate the natural shape of the foot—with 100% toe freedom!

The almost revolutionary approach is met with incomprehension within the industry, and sales partners are hard to find. Undeterred, Christian Bär decides: “Then we’ll sell our shoes ourselves.” BÄR shoes are now available at over 20 stores throughout Germany, in the BÄR online shop, and by catalogue order.
